Conference “Rural infrastructure – from project to effect”
On 27 October 2009 a conference “Rural infrastructure – from project to effect” took place in Warsaw. During the conference a competition “Friendly rural area” was summed up and a discussion on: “ How to create a friendly rural area” held. Representatives of NRDN Central Secretariat, Department of Rural Development in MARD and Foundation of Assistance Programmes for Agriculture FAPA presented a review of the best infrastructural projects implemented in rural areas since May 2004 in all voivodships in Poland and supported by EU funds. In the second part of the conference a formal award ceremony took place. The winners of the nationwide stage were awarded statuettes and diplomas.
The winners are:
First place – Międzychód Commune, Wielkopolskie (Greater Poland) Voivodship, for the project: “Building of a Nature Education Centre and reconstruction of a historical farm at Mniszki”
Second place – Wiśniowa Commune, Małopolskie (Lesser Poland) Voivodeship, for the project: Reconstruction of a pre-war Astronomical Observatory – Lubomir Star Town”
Third place – Town and Commune of Radków, Dolnośląskie (Lower Silesian) Voivodeship, for the project “Centre of Rural Initiatives at Ścinawka Górna”
