AGROTRAVEL 2014 – colors and flavors of rural areas

This year's AGROTRAVEL fair was the biggest event exhibition on agri-tourism and rural tourism. Also it was not only an opportunity to learn about the culture and the regional and local product from multiple locations Polish but also a platform for exchange of knowledge and ideas on rural tourism. Trade were opened by Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Sport and Tourism Katarzyna Sobierajska and Undersecretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development Tadeusz Nalewajk - wishing fair participants that this edition brought ideas for new directions of development of rural tourism.

Fair took place on 11-13 April 2014 in Kielce. This year the Partner Region was Wielkopolska region, while the Partner Country - Ukraine, Vinnytsia oblast. 

The event was also attended by guests from Georgia, Latvia, Malta , Moldova, Germany, Slovakia , Sweden and Italy. The fair presented their tourist attractions and activities of all Polish regions, local knitting groups, associations and many other organizations. 

The visitors had a chance to watch folk performances, take part in the traditional dance study ( Krakowiak), make flowers out of crepe paper , try the cheeses, meats, breads and cakes as well as juices and liqueurs .

Sixth edition of the AGROTRAVEL exhibition, accompanied by the international conference entitled: Rural tourism without borders brought together about 400 participants from Poland and European countries. During the meeting, summarizes already ending programming period and presented the effects of actions implemented during the 2007-2013 operational programs , ie summarizes the first 10 years of the development of rural tourism in the so-called " new" EU countries . Also presented new financial perspective for 2014-2020.

Conference participants had a chance to take part in workshops on various aspects of rural tourism and agro-tourism , such as renewable energy and ekocertyfikatów, beauty and aesthetics on a farm. Ukrainian artists presented a variety of decorating Easter eggs and the creation of paper-cutting . In addition, Polish Tourist Organisation has organized a Expert Day - the theme of the workshop was " Sustainable tourism as a key to the success of rural tourism services."
