6th NRN meeting
On 16-17 September 2009 in Budapest there was held the 6th meeting of the National Rural Development Networks. The meeting was opened by András Pásztohy – the vice chairman of the Parliamentary Commission for Agriculture, the Political Secretary of State in the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development responsible for the Hungarian National Rural Development Network.
On the first day there were presented communication strategies (Germany, Finland, Estonia), exchanged experiences regarding the communication tools used (Italy, Scotland, Sweden, Denmark) and also methods and techniques of ’measuring’ the effectiveness of actions taken.
Internet portals of the National Rural Development Networks were the leading theme of the second - day meeting. During so-called technical workshops, in the course of demonstration of the websites from various countries (Scotland, Hungary, Spain) the participants exchanged ideas connected with their creation and content both in respect of the merits as well as the graphical and technical side. A quite interesting and innovatory idea was presented by Ireland – the use of social networking in the National Rural Development Network (communities’ portals) and creation of the Irish Network website with the use of tools that are available on the Internet free of charge.
